Your Consultation

At Key Laser you always have choices. For your first visit you can choose to have a private consultation with either Dr. Douglas Key or one of our licensed Medical Aestheticians.

During your consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss your areas of concern and your goals for treatment. We will ask questions about your at-home skin care routine, medications that you are currently taking, as well as any allergies you may have.

We ask that you arrive with a clean face or remove any makeup prior to your consultation. By the end of your appointment, a member of the consultation team will have prepared a personalized treatment plan, and will be happy to review it with you.

A $100.00 fee is payable at the time of your comprehensive consultation with Dr. Key. The Key Laser Institute accepts cash, check, VISA or MasterCard, as well as CareCredit.

There is no fee for a consultation with our licensed Medical Aestheticians.

If you find yourself running late, simply call Patient Services at 503-291-1953, and we will make every effort to accommodate you. If you arrive more than 15 to 20 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Because of our concern for the safety of your children and your comfort, we ask that you please refrain from bringing children under the age of 16 to your consultation unless they are scheduled for an appointment.

Our Policies

We are committed to providing you with the highest quality care. In order to serve you most effectively, we have outlined our patient’s financial responsibilities and ask you to please review the following policies carefully. Your signature is required to receive treatment.


Our Fees

The consultation fee of $100.00 for meeting with Dr. Key will be applied towards your first treatment if that treatment is completed within 60 days of your consultation appointment. Exceptions to this consultation credit are injectable treatments and skin care products. Any fees discussed with us before your consultation visit are considered estimates only, and are subject to modification following your consultation. You will be given an individual treatment plan with fees, valid for a period of 60 days. Thereafter, our fees are subject to change, and may vary based upon individual treatment plans modified in the best interest of the patient.

All appointments require a deposit to hold the agreed date and time.

50% of fee as deposit at the time of scheduling on all other procedures and remaining 50% on scheduled procedure date.

Your Payment Options

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit/debit cards, personal/cashier checks with valid identification, or cash. Business checks are not accepted. We will assess a $50.00 fee for any check returned to us for reason of non-sufficient funds (NSF).

We offer access to low interest patient financing options through CareCredit Healthcare Finance. A CareCredit card is designed specifically for your health and beauty needs. CareCredit can help you move forward with getting the procedure you’ve always wanted and it’s easy to apply. Insurance

Due to the fact that most treatments are considered elective and/or cosmetic in nature, we do not accept or bill insurance companies.


Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

Treatments with a Licensed Medical Aesthetician

In consideration of those patients waiting for appointments, we require notification of cancellation or the need to reschedule an appointment. If you fail to notify us of your cancellation or need to reschedule less than 2 business days prior to your appointment date, you will be charged a $250 cancellation fee.

Treatments with Dr. Key

Due to the additional planning and resources required for these appointments, please note the following cancellation policy:

  • 22 or more days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 10% loss of your deposit
  • 15 - 21 days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 25% loss of your deposit
  • 8 - 14 days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 75% loss of your deposit
  • 7 days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 100% loss of your deposit

Refunds, Cancellations & Exchanges

All Key Laser services and products are non-refundable. We do not exchange or refund the purchase price of skin care or make-up products. We cannot issue refunds or exchanges for any prescription products.
