Our Policies

Welcome to Key Laser Institute for Aesthetic Medicine. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality care for your skin’s wellbeing. In order to serve you most effectively, we have outlined our patient’s financial responsibilities and ask you to please review the following policies carefully. Your signature is required to receive treatment.

Our Fees

Treatment consultation fees will be applied towards your first treatment if that treatment is completed within sixty (60) days of your consultation appointment. Exceptions to this consultation credit are injectable treatments, tattoo treatments, skin care consultations and products. Any fees discussed with us before your consultation visit are considered estimates only, and are subject to modification following your consultation. You will be given an individual treatment plan with fees, valid for a period of sixty (60) days. Thereafter, our fees are subject to change, and may vary based upon individual treatment plans as initiated by Dr. Douglas J. Key in the best interest of the patient.

Fees for all treatments are paid in advance. Please refer to the schedule below:

Payment Schedule Policy

Non-Surgical Procedures 100% of fee on day of treatment
Surgical Procedures 50% of fee as deposit at the time of scheduling; remaining 50% of fee 14 days prior to scheduled procedure date

Special Pricing Offers

Special offers, promotions, and coupons are not combinable or valid with any other offer.

Payment Options

We accept Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards, personal/cashier checks with valid identification, or cash. Business checks are not accepted. We will assess a $50.00 fee for any check returned to us for reason of non-sufficient funds (NSF).

We offer access to low- to no-interest patient financing options through CareCredit and CapitalOne Healthcare Finance. You will find helpful information and apply at:

Insurance

Due to the fact that most treatments are considered elective and/or cosmetic in nature, we do not accept or bill insurance companies.

Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows

Non-Surgical Appointments

In consideration of those patients waiting for appointments, we require notification of cancellation or the need to reschedule an appointment. If you fail to notify us of your cancellation or need to reschedule less than two (2) business days prior to your appointment date, you will be charged a $250 cancellation fee.

Surgical Appointments and any Procedures performed by Dr. Key

Due to the additional planning and resources required for these appointments, please note following cancellation policy:
  • 22 or more days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 10% loss of your deposit
  • 15 - 21 days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 25% loss of your deposit
  • 8 - 14 days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 75% loss of your deposit
  • 7 days prior to your scheduled procedure date will result in a 100% loss of your deposit

Prepaid Appointment Cancellation Fee

Notice of less than two (2) business days will result in 25% loss of your deposit.

Exchanges

Key Laser Institute services and products are non-refundable. If you cancel your procedure with adequate notification, we can offer exchange credit that may be applied toward any of Key Laser Institute’s services. We do not exchange or refund the purchase price of skin care or make-up products. We cannot issue refunds or exchanges for any prescription products.
