Intense Pulsed Light Treatment In Portland

IPL is a non-surgical, minimally-invasive cosmetic medical skin rejuvenation procedure in which traditional light is converted into heat below the epidermis. Intense Pulsed Light targets imperfections, destroying the underlying structure responsible for causing them in the first place. Following treatment, the body naturally removes the targeted tissue. Stimulating the production of new collagen, the end result is smoother, healthier looking skin. And, it can be combined with Fraxel® or Cool Touch™ laser treatments.

For men and women of all ages, your initial IPL procedure can be completed in about half-an-hour, depending upon the area being treated. It is important that you avoid self-tanners and significant sun exposure at least 2 weeks prior to your cosmetic medical treatment. Immediately following your procedure, the skin may have a pinkish color that fades within a few hours; it's okay to wear cosmetics, and to return to your normal activities immediately. To achieve the full benefits of IPL, 3 treatments are usually recommended at 3 to 4 week intervals. The improvement from even one Intense Pulsed Light treatment is visible within weeks, with maximum improvement seen 4 to 8 months following the last in your series of procedures.
