Sclerotherapy
If You've Got Something To Hide...We've got something that can help. Something that will allow you to feel confident and comfortable in shorts, a skirt or a bathing suit again. Something that treats those red, blue and purple spider veins in your legs. That something is called Sclerotherapy. Spider veins can be caused by genetics, hormones, pregnancy, injury, sun exposure, age, weight gain, and excessive sitting or standing. Regardless of how you got them, Sclerotherapy can get rid of unwanted spider veins, particularly those on your legs that are large enough to feel with your finger. Serving the Pacific Northwest, the Key Laser Institute for Aesthetic Medicine in Portland, Oregon is on the forefront on the West Coast in the use of noninvasive lasers, light and energy to reverse the signs of aging and to restore the health, appearance and overall well being of your skin. Call 503-291-1953 or toll free at 800-459-6677, today, and discover the benefits of Sclerotherapy. Or, request a confidential consultation with Dr. Key. Sclerotherapy, aka Injection TherapySclerotherapy is fast and simple procedure, with minimal pain and side effects and one that requires no anesthesia. During your treatment, a micro-needle is used to inject a sclerosing solution - typically saline mixed with heparin and Lidocaine - directly into the offending spider vein. You might experience a mild cramping sensation for approximately a minute after the injection. Eventually, the solution causes the vein to collapse, where it is absorbed back into the body. In addition to spider veins, sclerotherapy treats the "feeder" vessels that cause them. Following each 30 to 45 minute treatment, you'll see a progressive whitening of blood vessels. Typically, two or more procedures are required to fully treat spider veins. It can take your body several months to dissolve and finally absorb the problem veins. Depending upon the size of the treated veins, your best result will be seen 4 to 6 months after your last procedure. Although injection therapy is usually the best method to clear the legs of the undesirable "web" of spider veins, a Gentle YAG™ may be preferable to sclerotherapy for the elimination of small-to-medium sized veins.
