News from the AACS Annual Meeting

Dr. Key presents at AACS annual meeting Jan 2014.

Dr. Key traveled last week to the annual meeting of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It is gathering of cosmetic surgeons from all over the world.  This group of talented and skilled physicians join together to openly talk about new practices and technology in the field of cosmetic medicine.

Although the conference was in the Sunshine State, Dr. Key didn’t return with a tan. Inside he came back to us in Portland with some observations from the conference.
“It was interesting to me that the buzz was not about what’s new in surgery, but what’s new in non-surgery!”

“I attended a great session on Wednesday, which we jokingly referred to as ‘The First Ever Lightsaber Battle’ where we had a direct head-to-head comparison of the different noninvasive and minimally invasive choices out there.

We compared notes on the positive outcomes of patients who’ve done noninvasive procedures for fat reduction, such as CoolSculpting, Liposonix and a new treatment called Vanquish.”

Read more about Vanquish in Allure magazine.

Another hot topic was non-invasive skin tightening and rejuvenation, which we are constantly thinking about in our consultations with patients and resulting treatment plans.”

This conference is the first of many that Dr. Key will present at this year, all over the country. We’ll be sure to share the news and trends from each.
