Silhouette InstaLift in Portland
Silhouette InstaLift is a simple minimally invasive procedure that lifts saggy skin on the jowls, cheeks and neck for a more youthful appearance.
Areas of Concern
How it works
Lift is provided by inserting sets of special absorbable sutures under the skin which provide natural lift and re-suspension of the cheeks and jowls. These special sutures cannot be seen because they are positioned in the subcutaneous tissue, a thin layer of fatty tissue that is just beneath the skin. Lift is usually accomplished with as few as 3 to 4 sets of resorbable sutures. Thread procedures have come along way. Silhouette Instalift requires no incision and after careful placement, these cannot be seen or felt.
Silhouette InstaLift is made from Polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA), a well-known biomedical copolymer that is commonly used all over the world for suturing under the skin.
Once implanted, Silhouette InstaLift provides lift of the tissue until collagen production and subsequent encapsulation of the suture in collagen takes place. This action continues over time and helps to increase the volume and restore shapeliness to the face gradually and naturally.
What you can expect:
Prior to your treatment, before photos will be taken. Dr. Key will mark the area to be treated and inject the area with a small amount of numbing solution. Then, sutures are inserted to reposition and elevate the cheeks and jowls.
This in-office procedure typically takes approximately an hour to complete. After treatment a second set of photos will be taken. You will see immediate results and you should expect to have minimal recovery time after the procedure.
Over time the sutures will naturally be absorbed by your body while stimulating production of collagen.
With Silhouette Instalift results may last up to 2 years, or longer.

Silhouette InstaLift FAQs
This thread lift procedure is safe for all adults in relatively good health, who have had a stable weight for at least three months, and seek a more youthful appearance without incisions, sutures, and extended recovery.
Patients can resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
Patients may experience mild discomfort, inflammation, swelling, and bruising. Less common effects include banding, sensory nerve injury, and asymmetry.
Yes, the treatment earned FDA approval in 2015.
No—Dr. Key numbs the treatment area with a local anesthetic before treatment.
Traditional thread lift treatments employ barbs or hooks to adjust the skin surface. InstaLift repositions target tissue with bidirectional cones. As a result, the body will absorb the sutures completely and increase collagen production to rebuild facial volume at the mid-face.
Expect Instalift benefits to continue to improve for at least six months, with long-lasting results last up to two years.
