I’ve been asked to speak about the anti-aging treatments and feminine rejuvenation at the 5 Continent Congress for Lasers and Aesthetic Medicine in September 2015 in Cannes. I’ll cover how radio frequency paired with thermal image monitoring has offered the safest and most precise way to tighten and smooth sagging and loose skin on the face, chin, neck, stubborn body areas and now – the vulvovaginal area.
I had the privilege of spending the day with Dr. Red Alinsod, a visionary physician and chairman of ThermiAesthetics™ Women’s Health Clinic Advisory Board. Dr. Alinsod worked with ThermiAesthetics™ to design and develop ThermiVa™. We discussed the remarkable results of his clinical studies and I was able to talk with patients about how they felt about their ThermiVa™ treatments.
What have the ThermiVa™ subjects reported?
I’ve talked to women treated with ThermiVa™ about what they experienced and what drew them to it. Some women had been suffering from the embarrassment of bladder leakage and this treatment drastically improved their incontinence. Some patients had suffered from chronic dryness and the treatment restored their natural lubrication, which improved their sexual comfort. Others reported experiencing emotional pain from an inability to enjoy sex due to laxity in the vaginal canal after childbirth. Those women were overjoyed about regaining their sensitivity and sensation. Most importantly, all the women reported renewed confidence. Who is ThermiVa™ for?
Childbirth, weight fluctuations, age and certain medical conditions can stretch the muscles of the vagina and surrounding tissues, causing them to become lax. Women choose feminine rejuvenation treatments for their own personal reasons. Reasons may include:
- A desire to relieve physical discomfort of stretched or enlarged labia;
- Enhancing sexual confidence in appearance and satisfaction; and
- Seeking relief from embarrassing urine leakage issues due to incontinence.
How does ThermiVa™ work?
ThermiVa™ is an in-office, non-surgical procedure that uses radio frequency energy to gently heat tissue through an “S” shaped hand piece. Heat and energy shrinks skin and tightens external and internal vulvovaginal tissue. The hand piece features disposable applicator with gentle curves to provide comfort. No downtime is necessary.
Three separate 15-30 minute sessions are recommended over three months, but patients can see immediate results after the treatment and more dramatic results in 3-4 months. ThermiVa™’s effects last 9-12 months. The new tissue will be tighter and younger looking due to new collagen growth and thicker skin resulting from the application of radio frequency to the area.
How much does the treatment cost?
At Key Laser, we are offering the recommended three treatments as a package for $3,200. Alternatively, patients can purchase individual treatment sessions:
- First treatment – $1,400
- Second treatment – $1,100
- Third treatment – $950
Empowerment and women’s health
What’s clear is feminine rejuvenation has a lot more to do with women’s health – even as it relates to restoring appearance. However, this can be a sensitive and private subject to talk about – even with friends. There shouldn’t be a stigma to these topics and women should feel empowered to ask questions and make their own decisions.
