Why we’re excited about Voluma

Dr. Key often talks about the artistry of fillers. There is a skill that each injector should have when applying filler to the face. The skill comes from years of experience and a solid understanding of the facial structure of each individual.  The artist must also understand his or her tools.

This December we introduced Voluma XC to our palette of hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume. Voluma XC injectable gel is the first and only filler FDA-approved for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss.

Voluma XC is designed with a larger molecule and serious staying power. In fact, Voluma XC will stay in place for up to two years with proper treatment! So what is proper treatment? Now here is where the skill and the artistry factors in.

Key Laser has been using microcannulas exclusively for over a year. We’re experts on their use while other practices are just starting to incorporate them into practice. A microcannula is a needless needle. It has a blunted point that does less damage to the delicate facial tissue, resulting in less pain, less bruising and less swelling than a regular needle. A woman in Seattle asked the Real Self.com community about microcannulas and 15 physicians responded overwhelming positively.

Here are some results after treatment with Voluma. Look at the fullness and volume of the cheek area. Now you can see why we are so excited about this product!
